What’s on your easel?

What’s on your easel?
August 1, 2014 Sue

I had recently become re- acquainted with some online friends that I had met through a class we all took online. It was a wonderful group of people who shared openly and freely as we experimented through a new art venture. As with all things new, we kept up with each others blogs and facebook pages and supported each other as some of us set up these social networks for the first time. But of course as time passed life got in the way and some of the connections waned. Well, that was until this past week when renewed energy flowed into the group as one of the members reached out and contacted everyone. It was fantastic. Like a re-union.

Well, it made me think how great it would be if we could make it easy to share some of our current artwork all in one place. Sort of – come visit at my house and bring your newest piece of artwork!

So, I’m trying out a link-up tool on my blog and I’m inviting everyone in the group to share ” What’s on your easel?”  Of course, it doesn’t have to actually be on an easel, it could be your sketchbook or journal or just whatever you’re working on.

Let’s hope it works!!

Sue, this is a wonderful way to showcase your work and the work of others! You know, you may consider doing this a PAGE that you use as a weekly, or monthly, post. Here is an example: http://www.gsheller.com/category/yarn-along. Ginny has a weekly Yarn Along and every week knitters or crocheters link up with her Yarn Along to display what they are working on and what they are reading. Just an idea I thought I’d toss out to you. 😀

Robin, that is a fabulous idea! Sounds like a great way to keep in touch and see what’s happening. I’ve also shared this with another group so perhaps we will get some cross sharing of each others blogs.

  3. Such an awesome idea! I couldn’t figure out how to play
(direct to etsy or blog or a particular post or where? tech stuff:/)

Thanks Jennifer- You can add the URL to where the photo is located like a blog or website and I guess Etsy would work too. Once you put in the URL the Linky will see the photo. It would then give others the opportunity to click on your thumbnail and go to your site. Lots of sharing. If you don’t have the photo on a website you can just upload it directly, leave the line blank for the URL. Hope that helps, would love to see “what’s on your easel”!

Love this idea Sue! Can I play along? My stuff as you know is story telling rather than visual. Would that work?

What a great idea!! I’ve got nothing on my easel at this time, but would love to. This spring I was inspired to digitally play around with some new programs. where my cherry blossom tree was born. I’ll attach it. 🙂 Thank you!
