“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”  Lao Tzu

Purple Door

“The Purple Door” © Sue Grilli

That’s all it takes- a single step to bring you closer to your hopes, dreams and goals.

As we start a new year it’s always the perfect time to begin some new projects. On my last post I spoke about not having resolutions but instead having a word of the year and my word this year is CREATE. So in keeping that word in mind I have been busy in my studio.

The painting above was created from a photo shared by a friend who said that it reminded them of me and my work, so what  could a girl do but  Paint it!!  It was a fun way to warm up and get the brush moving. I loved how the color of the door was reflected in the flowers.

One of the other new steps I’ve been working on this year already is an e-course on Starting out in Watercolor. I’ve had so many people say that they wish they could paint like this- well you can!  And I’ll show you how. So stay tuned, that will be coming up later in the year.

Now if you would like to read what fellow creative soul, Kathie Gadd’s thoughts are on Beginnings, please follow this link, as this post is part of a blog circle and today we are all talking about beginnings. Grab a cup of coffee and read away… enjoy!

Love the purple door! Sue, I am so excited that you are stepping out and putting together an e-course! What a wonderful way to share your talent and knowledge. Flying Lessons was the first e-course I ever participated in and I loved it. I was surprised by how connected I felt to the other students as we traveled the journey together.
