Still basking in the glow…

Still basking in the glow…
July 4, 2012 Sue

Well it’s July already, we’re halfway through the year and the event that I had been planning for for a year now has come to a close.

And I’m not quite sure what to do with myself! All of the activities that were filling up my days and nights are completed, no more lists, phone calls, emails- that’s it- NADA! I feel so empty… I took all of the paintings down from the gallery and it was a little sad.

We had a fabulous turn out – thanks to all of you who came from so far- I even heard the gallery director say it was one of the best attended events they had, I was thrilled to say the least.

So while my exhibit was on display the Monroe Art Guild was also sponsoring a Summer Art Camp for local kids. It is just one of the many projects they do to bring the arts to the community. Well, once the kids were done with their project of the day they were allowed to visit the exhibit and draw from one of the paintings that they liked. I just have to share with you one of these, it was fantastic and I was honored to have this young artist want to copy my work!

This is the painting from Gavin

And here is my original painting

Now that the exhibit is over I’ll be sharing more of the pieces with you all on the blog and website along with the photographs that inspired the paintings that were taken by my daughter.

Till then…   be creative!

So glad to hear your show went so well. I love the picture from the young boy. Brought a smile to my face to imagine him examining your painting and creating one of his own through it.

Ahhh, Jennifer- yes I am rejuvenating my creative juices. I think I need a little break after all this excitement.
