I’ve been painting away getting ready for my exhibit in June. Who knew it would take so long to get all of these paintings prepared! I figured, sure I could whip up about 20 paintings- crazy me! But I am having a blast as I use photographs from my daughters travels from around the world and interpret them into my own watercolor paintings. The exhibit at the Monroe Art Guild will be a showing of both my daughters photographs and my paintings. She always shared her photos as she traveled and it was a wonderful way for us to keep in touch and for me to experience these places through her eyes. Now I get to put my touch on them and share with you my visions of these same places.
The photo above is just a small piece of the painting to spark your interest. What is it? Well, you will just have to wait and see.
Right now it is off at the framers getting all dolled up. I found a wonderful framer right in my home town, The Gilded Lily. If you are local you need to stop in an see Don & Melodi, they are fantastic.
Well, it’s back to the easel for me….
