“Painted Pots”

“Painted Pots”
May 5, 2012 Sue

So, last week I spent some time painting plein aire in a wonderful garden as part of the Monroe Art Guilds fundraiser of local garden tours. It turned out to be a warm sunny day, perfect for painting. Although I did get a bit of sunburn I didn’t mind being out in the fresh outdoor air at all, especially when I spend most of my days inside in an office.

I was so lucky to be assigned to such a beautiful garden, I had so many choices of where to set up and paint. I strolled around the grounds and took some photos, perhaps I can use for future paintings and then I settled on a grouping of pottery and plants. I knew I had a short amount of time to paint, about 2 hours, so I needed to keep the subject matter simple and these pots just glistened in the sunlight.
