“Into the Garden” watercolor Sue Grilli
Now that Spring is here our thoughts start turning to the outdoors. Fresh air, flowers and oh yes some pollen at least here in the Atlanta area. But that doesn’t stop us from getting our yards prepped with greenery and colors.
This is a great time for me to get outside to do some plein air painting. It is a much different experience than painting in the studio where you have a very controlled environment. There is no better teacher than life itself so getting up close to nature is wonderful. Except for the bugs of course, just don’t like the bugs!
This Saturday I will be participating in the Monroe Art Guild’s Garden Tour as I paint in one of the gardens. There are seven private homes that have opened up their gardens for visitors to view and I’m thrilled to be able to paint in one of them.
The photo above was from a previous years garden tour. Even though we had a rainy day that year I was lucky enough to have some cover with the pool cabana. This year looks like the weather is expected to be sunny, yeah.
If you are interested in supporting the Art Guild and attend the Garden Tour you can contact them here or feel free to send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’d love to see you there!
