Doors, doors everywhere

Doors, doors everywhere
May 6, 2013 Sue

I’ve been going through files on my computer gathering some photos of my artwork for submissions to a couple of juried shows that are coming up. And I have to admit that I am not the most organized when it comes to keeping all of my files in order. I try… I really do. I have several different folders to segment the different types of work. But what seems to happen is that I get so busy and then I’m hurrying in the last few minutes that the files just end up in one big folder, sitting there waiting for me to come back and sort through them. It’s sort of like putting your clothes away- if you don’t do it right away then you end up with a giant pile on your bedroom floor.

Then when I finally decide to buckle down and file them in their proper folders it becomes a job that is several hours long- whew!

So as I was going through this awful task I tried to make it as enjoyable as possible.

I’ve been meaning to put together a collage with a collection of home illustrations that I’ve painted, so this seemed like the perfect time. And a great reward for all of this hard work.

Doorway Collage

It was so fun to recall each of the homes and the paintings that I created for the owners. It felt like a walk down memory lane.

And now I even have my files organized- well at least for now- let’s see how long that lasts!

If you have a great way for organizing your files, I would love to hear about it.

I use iPhoto to organize my photos and I love it. I do have to tend to it every month to keep it organized, but it is worth it!

Kathy, the collage was easy, I did this one through ipiccy but you can also use picmonkey. Then use their collage function to fill in your photos.Easy, peasy!

Oh I wish I did! I use folders within folders… maybe “Houses” then by year, then by name? Lovely collage! You are so talented.

Sue, We have great faith in you! I’m sure you’ll keep those files organized! I had to start using nesting folders online for all my scrapbook photographs.

Your doors are beautiful! I’m glad no one on the block was lost!!

How does the saying go- “If these wall could talk”, I think is true for the doors as well! It was so fun putting them all together.
